Tom Hidvégi
Brodeōn
A Hungarian perfumer who left advertising, trained in Florence and Paris, and named his house after the French word for embroidery.
The story
Tom Hidvégi built a career in advertising, creating global campaigns and labels, before turning to perfume. He trained formally in Florence and then as an apprentice in Paris. He is the owner and perfumer of Brodeōn and is described as the first Hungarian niche perfumer with international distribution, through Douglas.
The work
The name Brodeōn comes from the French broder, to embroider: each note is a stitch, and a perfume is an invisible garment. The house debuted in 2024 with three eaux de parfum and one extrait: Verdon, green and fresh; Mielor, a gourmand; Ruméa, a metallic take on coconut and rum; and Cuiré, a leathery, spicy extrait.
On Parfumo & Fragrantica
Fragrantica lists the four Brodeōn perfumes under his name, all from 2024.
